Harvey Chord Kester was born on April 15, 1888 in Estrella, San Luis Obispo County, California. He moved with his parents and siblings to Laton, Kings County, California. Harvey married Nona Viola Dunn in January 1913 in Fresno, Fresno County, California. Harvey moved with his own family, and his parents family in early 1918 from Kings County to Santa Cruz County, California. During the bad Influenza (Flu) pandemic of 1918, Harvey died at the age of 30 on November 4, 1918 in Watsonville, Santa Cruz County, California. He was buried on November 7, 1918 in the Kester family plot, I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Watsonville, Santa Cruz County, California.
