KESTER

FAMILY  GENEALOGY

Welcome to our KESTER family web page.

This page belongs to Kitty & Virgil "Don" Kester III.  It has been said on prior versions of this page that it is a work in progress, which it still is, with updates and new pages added from time to time.  I began working on genealogy in 1982, after being injured at work, I was laid up at home and my mother gave me copies of her work on genealogy.  I became addicted to it!  I started the web page back in 1998, and has had many revisions since then.  Back last year someone sent me something which had this puzzle background on it, they just thought it looked nice.  But I looked at it and felt it would be just right for a genealogy page, as one way of thinking about working on genealogy is like working on a large puzzle and most all of us are looking for those missing puzzle pieces.  I have still been finding links to my old Pacific Bell web page, I have attempted to have it removed and or deleted, for some reason it just wants to live!  So if you are here now because of the link information which, with the help from someone at SBC (use to be Pacific Bell) I was able to get into the old web site, and at least edit it, telling you to come here.  Just this past month, several people had emailed me about these web pages.  Some recommended that I put the pictures of Kester family members onto separate pages, as it appeared cluttered with all the pictures on one page.  I have done just that, with the links to the separate pages listed below.  Good luck with your families genealogy, and I wish you the best of luck in finding all your puzzle pieces.

If you wish to pass along any of my missing puzzle pieces to me, please do I can sure use them.  If you find anything I have here that you feel is incorrect and needs correction, please email me and I will do so ASAP.  Over the past couple of years I have been getting hit bad with spam at my email address.  I really do not want to change my email address, so I have been trying out spam and virus software, I just finished up installing yet another spam filter on the email.  The problem that I need you to know, every program so far that I have used, to include the current one, any new email that it does not know, gets put into the same file that all the confirmed spam gets put into!  I really do not understand how and why the programmers have done it that way, it makes no sense to me.  I wish new emails went into one file and the already confirmed spam into it's own file.  Now what this means to you, I have to search through the spam file every day looking for your new emails, and I get on the average everyday, about 200 spam emails.  I am sorry but I know that I have missed some of your emails because I did not catch them.  I would also like to say I am sorry ahead of time for missing any new emails.  I would like to ask that you put into the subject line, GENEALOGY, as it really has helped me when I am looking through the hundreds of emails.  Below I am listing my email address, spaced out so that some bad spammer has a harder time grabbing emails to spam.  And below my email address, I am putting my mailing address (USPS), yes I still use snail mail.

I had a section on one of my old genealogy pages in which I had listed some memorials to some close personal friends of mine from work.  These friends were co-workers who God had taken away from us way to soon.  I made a web page for the memorials, which I am placing a link here,  just below this paragraph.  For over the past twenty-five years, Law Enforcement has been my line of work.  Before that a few years in private security and in the United States Marine Corps.   Please click this link to go to the memorial pages.
